Estimated Jewellery Price
Enter a valid weight to see an itemised estimate. How the Jewellery Price Calculator works
This estimation tool starts with the current SonachandiLive Gold reference rate in rupees per 10 grams. It calculates the entered weight, then applies only the purity, wastage, making-charge and tax assumptions you select.
Gold value and purity
The stored reference rate has no karat meaning. Purity presets and custom percentages are mathematical adjustments, not observed 22K or 18K market quotes.
Wastage and making charges
Wastage is calculated as a percentage of the purity-adjusted Gold value. A percentage making charge uses that same adjusted Gold value; fixed mode adds the rupee amount you enter. Practices vary between jewellers.
Tax or GST assumption
The entered percentage is applied to the subtotal of adjusted Gold value, wastage, and making charge. It is an adjustable estimate and does not determine legal tax treatment.
Why an actual invoice may differ
Reference rates, purity methods, wastage, making charges, taxes, discounts, fees and rounding can differ. This result is an estimate; the jeweller's actual invoice controls the transaction.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Jewellery Price Calculator FAQs
How is the estimated jewellery price calculated?
The calculator estimates Gold value from the current SonachandiLive reference rate and weight, applies any selected purity and wastage factors, adds your making charge, and then applies your tax/GST percentage to the subtotal.
Does the calculator include making charges?
Yes, when you enter them. You can use a percentage of the purity-adjusted Gold value or a fixed rupee amount. The neutral default is zero.
Can I enter making charges as a percentage?
Yes. Percentage mode calculates the making charge from the purity-adjusted Gold value, before wastage and tax are added.
What does wastage mean in this calculator?
Wastage is an optional percentage applied to the purity-adjusted Gold value. It starts at zero because actual jeweller practices vary.
Does this calculator determine GST?
No. It applies only the tax or GST percentage you enter to the displayed subtotal. It does not determine legal tax treatment or use a compulsory tax rate.
Why can my jeweller's final price differ?
Jewellers may use different reference rates, purity methods, wastage, making charges, tax treatment, discounts, fees, or rounding. The actual invoice controls the transaction.
